Is water cooling really necessary for my computer?

I love the idea of water cooling because it is a very efficient way of cooling components and it looks cool too (pun intended). I do not plan to overclock whatsoever, but I do plan to have 3-way SLI configuration (Three GTX580's).

I've heard that water cooling is really only necessary if you plan to overclock. Since I wont be overclocking, I'm really only interested in water cooling if it extends the life of the GPUs or if it allows the GPU to somehow run "better".|||hi canucks, although water cooling is the best form of cooling no if you are not over clocking then you do not need water cooling and the gpu only pertains to video cards. and you will need a heatsink because the processor really get's hot so a heatsink is a must. i was looking at corsair heatsink there is no modifacation like water cooling does it is already set up so all you have is a radiator and two lines but i heard you must puch that cooling down on the processor for it to be able to get it to work. but let's discuss heatsink alcua is the best on the market it has tubing cooling. that is not my opinion it is pc magazines opinion. good luck hope i was helpful to you|||I don't suggest you to use it. Water cooling is essential for those computers which use a lot of power (High Graphics, High RAM, High Speed CPU and High Power Usage) e.g. Gaming Computers. Water cooling does not extend the life of the GPUs and it does not allow it to run better.

If you really want your GPU and CPU to run better, it is better if you use your Computer in a 10°C or 50°F temperature using a fan-cooled computer.(Imagine if you use a water-cooled computer in 10°C and below)|||just think about what will happen when ti leak.

And no water cooling is not necessary|||Totally unnecessary.
